A Medical Health Update on COVID-19 and the Vaccines for African Americans
Description
School for Health Ministry, under the leadership of Pastor Damion Briggs and Dr. Selena Briggs, MD, will work collaboratively with the Rev. Anthony Evans of the National Black Church Initiatives (NBCI) and health care agencies to present an update on COVID-19 and the vaccines. Leading experts will present and answer questions accordingly. This update session will be a most relevant, informative briefing on COVID-19, the variants, and the vaccines.
Topics
We will address the topics outline in your initial email either via presentation or question/answer format:
- What the church needs to know about COVID-19 and the variants
- Resistance and hesitancy to the vaccine by Black/African Americans
- Why are/were Black/African Americans more affected by and dying from COVID 19 than other groups
- How church leadership can prepare the congregation for in-person worship services in the Post-COVID19 era
- How religious institutions may serve as change agents during and after the pandemic
