Course Description:

Pastors have a significant role in shaping the minds of young people. In a recent survey of Protestant pastors conducted by the Barna Research Group, only half (51 percent) possess a biblical worldview. What constitutes a “biblical” worldview? Christian researcher George Barna says it includes a belief in absolute moral truth as defined by Scripture, as well as acceptance of six core biblical beliefs:

• the accuracy of biblical teaching,
• the sinless nature of Jesus,
• the literal existence of Satan,
• the omnipotence and omniscience of God,
• salvation by grace alone,
• and the personal responsibility to evangelize.

Christian principles and belief in Christ have been drastically declining in the last 30 years. Several surveys suggest that when developing a biblical worldview, a good place to start is with the people in the pulpit.

This course will provide pastors with an “iron sharpens iron” experience. In tackling the problem of declining youth in our churches and the percentage of young people holding a Christian worldview, it demands that pastors work cohesively to win and reclaim our young people for Christ.
